Terms of Use

These terms describe the current public release candidate. They are limited to the product surfaces and teacher entry described below. Questions can be sent to support@cllearninglabs.com.

Public pages and the guided demo

The public site provides informational pages. The guided demo is a synthetic, read-only preview. It is not a live classroom and should not contain real student names, student work, or personal information.

Current limited teacher entry

When the applicable release flags are enabled, the current new-teacher entry is limited-A2 access for an adult educator or authorized instructor. A new teacher may use Google or secure email/password signup. It is a one-time 30-day teacher preparation trial. No card is required, there is no automatic charge, and the teacher must explicitly start the trial after completing the required profile and agreement steps.

Limited-A2 access is for private teacher preparation. It permits private teacher-owned draft classes, multiple-choice practice drafts, and writing drafts. It does not permit student enrollment, joins, class activation, classroom use, lifecycle email, payment, or automatic charging. Do not enter real student names, student work, or personal information into this private preparation workspace.

Active work is available before the exact trial end date shown in the workspace. Beginning on day 31, active-work actions pause. The account, profile and support access, and saved private drafts remain available as provided by this feature. Trial expiry itself does not delete the account or drafts.

Future continuation

A future optional continuation may be considered at $12/month. It is unavailable today while commerce is off. No payment details are requested and no charge occurs from the current limited-A2 release. These terms do not promise a first charge date.

Returning accounts

Returning legacy accounts may have previously granted a different scope of access. This release does not relabel legacy users as accepting the current policy versions and does not silently change their existing scope.

AI and teacher judgment

AI features are advisory and may be incomplete or wrong. A separately enabled feature receives only the context needed for that feature when it is invoked. AI does not replace teacher judgment or the teacher's responsibility for consequential instructional decisions. Limited-A2 private preparation does not include AI features today unless a feature is separately made available and explicitly invoked.

Acceptable use

Use the available product surfaces only for their stated purpose. Do not:

• share account credentials or use another person's account;
• attempt to access another user's records or a class you do not own or join;
• scrape, disrupt, or probe the service or its access controls;
• submit harmful, unlawful, or unrelated sensitive information; or
• use the guided demo as a place for real student data.

Archive and retained records

An archive is a retention state, not deletion. Records may remain subject to the applicable product retention schedule, school controls, authorized requests, dependencies, and backup aging. The Privacy Notice explains the current data categories and retention limits.

This notice describes current product behavior and the limited public-entry release. It is not a complete provider inventory or a legal-compliance certification. For questions or authorized requests, contact support@cllearninglabs.com.

Information the product may record

• Public and session activity: page and session data needed to operate public pages, plus aggregate guided-demo events.
• Account and OAuth identity: username, email, display name, account identifiers, and Google provider identity when Google sign-in is used. The app does not receive a Google password.
• Teacher profile: educator profile, school or organization information, teaching details, verification status, and policy or agreement records.
• Classes and attachments: classes, memberships, assignments, uploaded attachments, and related ownership or access records.
• Practice: questions, answers, scores, attempts, and progress records.
• Writing: drafts, versions, submissions, reflections, feedback, rubric records, and bounded process records that a writing feature is designed to capture.
• Support and feedback: messages, requests, and information supplied through support or feedback surfaces.
• Rate-limit, security, and audit metadata: information needed to protect the service, investigate an incident, enforce access boundaries, and record material administrative actions.
• Conditional billing metadata: only if a future commerce feature is separately enabled, such as provider customer or subscription identifiers and status metadata.

Current limited-A2 boundary

The current limited-A2 teacher entry is for adult educators or authorized instructors preparing private drafts. It does not enroll students, enable joins or classroom use, send lifecycle email, or collect payment. Teachers should not enter real student names, student work, or personal information there. Trial expiry pauses active work on day 31 but does not itself delete the account or saved private drafts.

How information is used

The product uses these categories to provide sign-in, access control, teacher preparation, practice, writing, support, safety, and requested product features. A separately enabled AI feature may receive limited context needed for that feature only when it is explicitly invoked. No limited-A2 private-preparation AI feature receives context today.

CL Learning Labs does not sell student data, use it for targeted advertising, create unrelated commercial profiles, or train general models on identifiable student work without a separate explicit policy and valid authorization.

Provider boundaries

The following boundaries describe providers relevant to the current release. They are not a claim that this is a complete provider list.

• Google: authentication and, if separately enabled and requested, Classroom verification.
• Render: hosts the application, database, uploads, and related infrastructure. This notice does not claim a hosting region.
• OpenAI: receives limited needed context only when a separately enabled AI feature is invoked. It is not used for limited-A2 private preparation today.
• Stripe: inactive today. If commerce is separately enabled later, payment would use a hosted payment or card boundary and the app would retain provider identifiers and status metadata, not card numbers.

Provider training, retention, encryption, geography, security, and compliance commitments require current provider documentation, inventory, contract review, and qualified counsel. This notice does not make those unverified claims.

Who may see records

Access follows the product's account, ownership, membership, and role boundaries. A teacher may see records made available for the teacher's classes and assignments. Authorized support or administrative access may be used when needed for support, safety, or system operation. The current limited-A2 workspace is private teacher preparation and has no student membership surface.

Writing Coach retention

Where Writing Coach records apply, the approved planning schedule keeps final submissions, meaningful drafts, reflections, and rubric records for the active class plus 24 months, subject to lawful school control, export, and counsel review. Recoverable autosave snapshots are planned for 90 days after an assignment closes or final submission. Detailed inserted-material records are planned for 180 days after assignment closure. Identifiable coaching interactions are planned for the active class plus 12 months, and legacy behavioral telemetry is planned to expire within 90 days. Security and audit records use purpose-specific schedules.

An archive starts the applicable retention clocks. Purge tooling is not proof that an automated production schedule is running. No separate A2 draft deletion schedule is promised here. The limited-A2 trial ending does not delete the account or drafts.

Export, correction, and deletion requests

The current student Writing Coach export is not a complete account export. Requests for broader export, correction or context, or deletion require authorization and may be limited by account or school dependencies, applicable retention, legal or safety needs, and backup aging. Contact support@cllearninglabs.com so the request can be reviewed through the appropriate control. This notice does not promise deletion at any particular time.

School, age, and product review

School use, age-appropriate access, accessibility, and district or legal requirements depend on the actual deployment and authorization. This page does not certify FERPA, COPPA, state-law, district-policy, security, or contractual compliance. Public policy and school commitments must match verified system behavior and qualified privacy counsel review.
